Anatomy of Problem-solving

Tim Hobbs started his career as a technical problem-solver in the US Navy. During his tenure, he managed various highly advanced naval electronic systems. He was also assigned to a ship repair facility in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, which enabled him to solve various problems in a timely manner that generally eluded his peers. He received many awards including three Naval Achievement Awards for his keen ability to solve some very difficult problems in an innovative and effective manner. At the young age of 19 he was awarded the highly sought after Sailor of the Year award at his first command in Keflavik, Iceland where he discovered his problem-solving talent.With over nine years of faithful service, Tim decided to end his naval career to spend more time with his family. Prior to his departure from the Navy, he obtained an associate's degree from Honolulu Community College. He later decided to pursue a career in the high-tech manufacturing industry as a manufacturing technician. Though new to the industry, he was able to command the attention of his interviewers during his first interview. So impressed with his ability to solve problems, he was offered a position as a senior technician 10 months before his departure from the Navy. Eager to learn, Tim spent the first year learning the complexities of the high-tech manufacturing industry. Immediately, he was able to begin to solve some of the industry's most complicated problems using his proven problem-solving approach. He soon became the envy of his peers and engineers. In a matter of hours, he was literally solving problems that had tormented his teams for days, weeks and sometimes months.He later set his eyes back on higher education in which he received a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems and a MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix. He was later promoted to an Equipment Engineer. In this role, he led many successful problem-solving efforts and engineering projects.In response to persistent requests of his colleagues, Tim decided to write The Anatomy of Problem-Solving to enable others to learn and benefit from his experience and success as an expert problem-solver. He is the president and founder of Hobbs Technical Consulting, LLC. He is an in-demand problem-solver and keynote motivational speaker. He trains organizations and professional groups how to effectively solve problems in a team environment through his seminars and workshops. His mission is too train the next generation of professional problem solvers.
