The role of charitable aid in aiding those affected by the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, in N.Y. City, at the Pentagon, & in PA. In N.Y. City alone, about 100,000 people may have lost their income as a result of these events. Fed., state, & local gov'ts. responded to this disaster in a variety of ways & private charities also provided aid.
